Unsung Heroes - BBC Inspirations Awards

The first time, I watched a video of a woman called Brisa who was raped by one of her extended family members, at the age of 15. She created a school for people who have suffered sexual abuse.

When she finally found the courage to tell the police, she was ostracised and her case was sent to an agricultural and livestock court. After a traumatic experience in court, Brisa decided to set up A Breeze of Hope, a charity which provides medical, social and legal services to young rape survivors.

I think she had the courage to stand up when she was low, still some days she still has problems but when she goes to sleep, the next day is a new day with new opportunities for her.

Decide what qualities make her a shero?

You can use the following website to rate her characteristics

on a scale from 1 to 10

The second video I watched is about a woman called Zenith Irfan, in Pakistan riding a motorcycle alone. It is rare to see a woman driving solo on a motorbike, especially through Taliban-controlled areas or in the disputed region of Kashmir.

She realizes the dream that her dead father had when she was very young. In 2015, Zenith ventured on a six-day trip from Lahore to Kashmir in her father’s memory.

She is the first woman who has broken taboos in Pakistan with a motorbike.

I think it's good that she’s making her father's dream come true and that at the same time she’s breaking taboos, I think her father would be proud of her.
